New buildings - and there will be 558 of them in total, will be built beyond the "green line" of the city. The Planning and Construction Department of the City Hall announced the details of the plan on February 5.

In addition, according to the Jerusalem media, the approval of the plan on February 5 was a purely bureaucratic procedure. The construction plan itself and tenders were determined several years ago. It seems that if construction had begun already then, such a frenzied price increase in Jerusalem would not have been observed.

Representatives of the municipality, discussing the decision with the Jerusalem media, also noted that tens of thousands of apartments to be built are intended for residents of all nationalities. In addition, the construction commission is discussing the possibility of building Arab quarters of the city.

According to the plan, 386 new facilities will be built in the Ar-Homa district, 136 belong to the Neve Yaakov district, the remaining 36 have been moved to Pisgat-Ze'ev.
