The law on obtaining a residence permit in Montenegro

On November 3, 2015, a law came into force, according to which all foreign homeowners in Montenegro can obtain a residence permit for a period of 1 year, regardless of the cost of the object or its area. Owners of houses, summer houses, apartments, commercial facilities and hotels can apply for a residence permit (owners of land plots cannot apply for a residence permit status).

To get it , you need:

application to the Municipal Unitary Enterprise (Ministry of Internal Affairs), signed in person - a copy of the certificate of ownership of the property, the date of issue - does not exceed 6 months

confirmation of registration (with the tourist organization of Montenegro), within 24 hours upon arrival in the country

a copy of the annual international medical insurance or "green book" of a Montenegrin company employee

confirmation from a personal bank account of the availability of at least 3,650 euros for each family member (at the rate of 10 euros per day).

a passport with a validity period of at least 1 year (photocopy of all pages) - a certificate of no criminal record (police authorities) from the place of permanent residence (suspended sentences are not taken into account), the date of issue - does not exceed 6 months with translation into Montenegrin - three taxes: 10 + 10 + 5 euro (paid to three different accounts in any bank or post office in Montenegro), account numbers - when submitting documents to the police.

Comment from "Adriatik Stroinvest":

1. The period of consideration of the application for the status of a residence permit is up to 30 days, while the period of stay for all 30 days of waiting for the decision to be issued is not mandatory

2. Upon obtaining the status of a residence permit, it is possible to withdraw 3650 euros from a bank account, when applying for an extension of the status in the following terms, it is mandatory to provide a new certificate of availability of funds

4. International insurance for those traveling abroad - to issue an annual one in Russia, while paying for 90 or 120 days of stay with the validity period of these 90 or 120 days during the year (from...before). The main thing is that the total validity period of the insurance itself is checked, and not the number of paid insurance days.

5. Obtaining a residence permit by family members (spouse and children under 18) - only after obtaining the status of a residence permit by the owner of the property (which is registered in the certificate of ownership) under the family reunification program, while:

- the list of all documents is the same as for the owner of the object;

- translated into Montenegrin the original of the marriage certificate for the second spouse and the birth certificate of the children (proof of kinship). Also, after buying a property, you will receive a residence permit and on Cyprus
