There is no credible evidence that alleged members of the "Islamic State" (a terrorist organization banned in Russia, also known as ISIS) are threatening attacks in Thailand, as warned by Russian intelligence services, writes Reuters. The agency refers to a statement made by the head of the Thai Interpol Bureau, General Apichart Suribunya.

According to him, the organization has received warnings similar to the warning from the FSB many times. However, Interpol and the Thai special services have no data that the terrorist organization "Islamic State" is preparing terrorist attacks in Thailand.

The Russian Embassy in Bangkok has not yet commented on the statement of the Thai Interpol. Earlier it was said that the militants could prepare attacks on the resorts of the country "against Russian interests."

On December 4, Reuters reported on a document that got into the social network — an official warning from the FSB of Russia sent to the Thai special services. The authenticity of the document was confirmed to the agency on condition of anonymity by a representative of the Thai police, and the head of the Thai police, General Chaktipayindra, said that the police would try to find the person who revealed the contents of the secret document.

The document referred to ten Syrians who entered Thailand between October 15 and 31, four of whom went to Phuket Island, and two to Bangkok. Syrians, as indicated in the FSB warning, are associated with the Islamic State.

On December 6, Thai authorities announced the search for four Syrians who remained in Thailand after their visa expired. Later, the police said that suspicions of links with the "Islamic State" were removed from three of them.

In August 2015, an explosion killed more than 20 people near the Erawan Hindu Temple in Bangkok. The authorities of the country said that the explosion was not a terrorist attack.

The country's police said that the incident was not a terrorist attack, but was the revenge of the criminal community for the defeat of the network that organized illegal migration to the country.
