Transformation of the island of New Holland in St. Petersburg
According to representatives of the West 8 bureau, their company plans to implement an actual project for the design and reconstruction of the island of New Holland, which is located within St. Petersburg.
The main goal of Dutch architects is to turn the island square into a recreation and entertainment area. At the same time, all objects of historical value will be preserved and, moreover, restored.
Various offices, exhibition venues, restaurants and apartment hotels are planned to be located in the reconstructed buildings of New Holland.
There will be no structures on the inner part of the island - it will be covered with a lawn and turned into a park area designed for recreation and various events.
With an investment of 12.1 billion rubles, the main part of the reconstruction work is planned to be completed by November 2015.
