Russia and Belarus create a holding company
Not so long ago it became known that two large automobile concerns - Russian KAMAZ and Belarusian MAZ intend to merge into one holding. The Belarusian and Russian sides discussed and accepted the conditions for combining these two plants into a common system - a holding company called Rosbelauto. The holding will be created on a parity basis, the chairman of the State Property Committee in the Republic of Belarus says.
Such conditions will be beneficial for both parties to the contract. 75% of the shares of MAZ will be contributed to the holding, but Belarus reserves the block package so that if the holding makes a decision that is unfavorable for Belarus, it could refute it. Recall that the intention to create such a structure was known at the beginning of 2010, when the state enterprise "Rostechnologii" put forward a proposal to unite two manufacturers of heavy trucks. At that time, it was agreed that the holding would be established by the end of 2012. However, negotiations on its creation are still underway between the two sides. The Russian Ambassador to the Republic of Belarus notes that, according to his assumption, the negotiations can be completed successfully in the first quarter of this year.
