Turkmenistan will start supplying gas to Ukraine
The Ukrainian government has agreed with Turkmen fuel companies to supply gas to the territory of Ukraine. Gas supplies, according to the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Eduard Stavitsky, will begin in the first half of 2013, which is undoubtedly very convenient for the country. This statement was made on February 13 at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers. At the same time, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ukrainian Naftogaz of Ukraine and the Turkmen state enterprise Turkmengaz.
Stavitsky also stressed in his statement that all countries from the CIS free trade agreement zone have access to gas supplies from Turkmenistan.
Turkmenistan has decided to supply its gas abroad due to the fact that the production of this resource on its territory is gradually increasing. Today, more than 70 billion cubic meters of liquid fuel are produced in this country - this amount will be enough not only for Turkmenistan and Ukraine, but also for many other neighboring countries. There is no question of resource shortage in the case of gas supplies, the problems consist only in organizing the delivery of this resource to Ukraine and, possibly, to other European countries.
